The Butterfly Effect Project End of Year Campaign

Help Us Get from Here to There

Help Us Get From Here To There: illustrated children move from a dark wall of obstacles, through a chrysalis of care, into a bright field of butterflies. Help us give our youth the safety and support they need to shape a better future.

Every new beginning deserves an opportunity.

2026 has been a year of extraordinary growth, resilience, and meaningful milestones for The Butterfly Effect Project.

While shifting funding priorities across Long Island presented unexpected challenges, they never changed our commitment to the children, youth, and young adults we serve. Because of our incredible supporters, we didn’t just keep going. We kept growing!

Look what we accomplished together!

Opening Doors to New Opportunities

  • Served more than 800 young people annually through 35 chapters across Long Island’s East End.
  • Launched our first school-based Dragonfly chapter and expanded into Greenport.
  • Introduced ballet into our growing arts programming.
  • Celebrated our first-ever Scholarship Night, expanded college access opportunities, and continued supporting our young adults as they pursued degrees and reached graduation milestones.

Building Stronger Programs and Future Leaders

  • Developed curriculum aligned with New York State learning benchmarks for our school-based and evening chapters.
  • Strengthened our data systems to better track outcomes, streamline programs, and measure impact.
  • Supported 48 young people through our Braniacs tutoring program, where students are increasingly taking the initiative to ask for help.
  • Encouraged civic engagement through community conversations, civic education, and young adults exercising their right to vote.

More than numbers. Real lives. Real progress.

A backpack means a child begins school prepared. A tutoring session means a student has the confidence to ask for help. A scholarship means a young adult can take another step toward their future.

And behind every milestone is a community that believed in what was possible.

Your gift doesn’t just create a ripple. It moves the needle.

Here is where a young person begins, with potential, questions, and dreams.

There is where a new opportunity begins. A stronger voice. A leadership role. A college degree. A future they once thought was beyond their reach.

And the beautiful thing about there is that it’s never the finish line. It’s the beginning of what’s next.

So many issues are happening in our world, our country, and our communities. We cannot forget the most valuable thing we have – our youth. Help us get from here to there.
When we invest in their protection and healing today, we build the leaders, creators, and changemakers of tomorrow. Help us get from here to there.

We’ve built the momentum. Help us keep it going.

Our network is growing. Our young people are thriving. Our communities are becoming stronger.

Your generosity helps us sustain the programs we’ve built, strengthen the opportunities we’ve created, and reach the next young person waiting for their chance.

We cannot control the world our children inherit. But together, we can help prepare them to change it.
